Memorial Day Weekend

This Memorial Day weekend was busy with lots of fun activities. Picnics, parties, dates, BBQs, dancing, bike riding etc.

Chris and I had a brunch date at Cafe Stella my new favorite restaurant for day dates and family dinners. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is pretty and the service is great.

Baby Jess is growing bigger and so is my big belly. We are 24 weeks!

As soon as the camera comes out so do the silly faces.

Can you guess where Connor gets it?

On Sunday we attended a birthday party for Connor's preschool pal Konrad.

Blowing up the giant balloons with a pump and letting them shoot all over was great entertainment.

My handsome boy.

Connor is always happy to chase the girls around.

We attended our 2nd annual Memorial Day BBQ at our friend Holley's. She grilled up quite a spread for us and it was delicious! Absolutely the hostess with the mostest. Thank you Holley.

It was a little too windy for swimming in the pool but the kids were happy to sit on the edge and splash their feet.
Little Thatchie was so happy to sit with the 'big kids' on the side of the pool and splash his feet in the water too.

Again my handsome boy.

The dads.

Victoria and Miss G.

My attempt at a patriotic cake. White cake with vanilla buttercream frosting and fresh berries from farmers market.

The boys digging in.

Some serious corn on the cob eaters.

We hit Shoreline park for some family time. Here dad is showing Connor the surfers.

Connor bombing down the hill on his tricycle which he informed us is a baby bike and he is a big boy so he needs a big boy bike. Chris and I both agreed. Looks like that's next on the list.

My sweet sweet handsome boy.

Even though Connor is a 'big boy' we cannot convince him that this is a baby swing...
However he still got some good pushes from dad.

We ended the weekend with a lovely picnic with our friends at the mission rose garden. Our 1st of the year and it was a prefect end to the weekend and start to the summer.

Bella being a good big sister and entertaining Leila.

Sammy and Bella sharing toys with Gwendolyn.
Friends

Sammy, Connor and Reese showing off their dance moves.

The mommies.

And the buddies.

Go fly a kite

On mother's day Connor had his 1st successful kite flying adventure. We've tried a few times to fly a kite with Connor and we've mostly been unsuccessful so it was a big deal that this baby flew and flew. Connor had a great time.

Below are a few random pix from that day.

On our walk at Las Positas Park we spotted no less than 10 lizards and YES of course we were counting. That's what you do when you have a boy!

Connor's 1st report card

I can't believe that Connor got his 1st little report card. For each statement relating to his development there is a check box for "G" = Good or "W" = Working on this skill. Well Mr. Connor got all Gs! And at the bottom a sweet note from Miss. Cindy Connor's teacher. We are proud of you Connor keep up the great work.

Alien vs Baby

WOW technology today! Can you believe these pictures of baby Jess. You really get an idea of what she looks like. We can already tell she has the same nose as Connor. I can't imagine what we'll be able to see when Connor is becoming a dad... hair color? eye color? future math score?!

These ultrasound images are from last month 4/20/2011. So She is even bigger now :-)
And she is moving ALL the time.

Mother's Day

TO MY LOVE! - by Chris Stone

It’s a wife’s day
It’s a friend day
It’s a lover day
It’s a Gucci Day
It’s a Smucci Day
IT’s Mother’s Day!

You’re a Mom!
You are the bomb
You inspire
You are my fire

The next chapter
Is on us
Guess who’s coming

Lets be honest
Its gonna be a mess
But it will be best
With our Jess

You know why
You’re heart is magnificent
You almost fly
Its transcendent

I would do anything for you
You make me feel like man!
You are the only girl in the world
I am monster fan!!

Isn’t this fun!
Watch out!
What would I do without!!

This weekend we had fun fun fun!!!

On Saturday we went to a beach birthday party and saw a humpback whale come to the surface and do a big spray from it's blow hole (twice), Connor caught his 1st fish. He caught a small mouth bass from the little pond on our friends ranch (sadly I didn't get a picture). Then we went to the harbor and had dinner at Endless Summer Grill, which is fun and very family friendly. After dinner we took a lovely walk down the break wall and saw a harbor seal playing in the water. A whale, a seal & a bass in one day . . . pretty amazing.

Chris and I had a short date Sunday morning. We got starbucks and went to Goleta for a quiet morning walk on my favorite country road.

Check out that view . . . so peaceful.

We went to Chapala Farms to get a few plants for the tiny tiny garden we are planting. While there Connor fed the chickens & ducks and we walk out with a dozen fresh eggs & several heirloom tomato plants. We couldn't wait until morning so we had the eggs for dinner & they were delicious!

Sunday afternoon we rented a surrey and rode down to the bird refuge and had lunch and virgin pina coladas at Cafe del Sole. Connor LOVED riding the surrey, he was seriously squealing with excitement as we rode.

There is the big mama. 20 weeks preggers on Monday! Yay! Half way there! We can't wait to meet you baby Jessica.

Our little seal. We have new underwater camera that we need to practice on. Underwater shooting is a little tough due to the weightlessness and not being able to hold still for a picture.

Happy little swimming smile.

To more weekends like this!
